Here at The Construction Collaborative, we all know and love Bluebeam, but many of us may not have a full picture of who "Bluebeam" really is. Bluebeam is just one of the Nemetschek companies; a global company based in Germany that is a huge provider of software solutions to the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) and media industries. Founded by Prof. Georg Nemetschek in 1963, the Nemetschek Group today employs more than 4,000 people, according to their LinkedIn page. At their recent Unbound 2025 conference in Washington, DC, they announced that Bluebeam Revu has over 4 million users!
While many construction technology companies are talking about AI right now, Nemetschek seems to already be incorporating it into its ecosystem. At the conference we saw actual demonstrations of artificial intelligence being used to do things like stich sheets together (great for large civil projects with endless sheets that connect to the next using match lines), search for fixtures using natural language prompts, and improve the ability to overlay sheets to do comparisons.
It was also eye opening to see all of the additional companies that are part of the Nemetschek group, and exciting to see that these are being connected to Bluebeam Revu and Studio through native integrations. This includes things like TaskLink with GoCanvas and future integrations with their companies Nevaris and Graphisoft. Speaking of integrations, if you haven't looked lately, you should check out the new integrations library to see all the things you can do with Bluebeam today and get a glimpse of a few things to come. There is even a new Integrations Hub with resources to help develop new integrations.
In the mean time, if you want to take a look at some of the things that Nemetschek is involved with outside of Bluebeam, check out this article from TechAfrica News.
